In the wake of the pandemic, many of us found ourselves reevaluating our lives, contemplating the true meaning of success and fulfillment. Jason Gilbert, like many others, had an awakening during those uncertain times. For 17 years, he navigated the rigors of middle management in the manufacturing industry, facing the harsh reality of long hours, demanding schedules, and the constant pressure to keep operations afloat. But as the pandemic swept through, disrupting industries far and wide, Jason began to question the path he was on.
“I could pass away tomorrow, and my company would just find someone to replace me,” Jason recalls, a sentiment that echoed through his mind during those challenging times. The fear in his employees’ eyes mirrored his own uncertainty about the future. The relentless swing shifts and 60-hour workweeks left him feeling like a bystander in his own life, robbed of precious moments with his family.
Despite his dedication to helping his organization rebound, Jason couldn’t shake the feeling that he was on the wrong track. After helping the company return to pre-pandemic output, he made the courageous decision to step away, seeking a change that would align with his deeper aspirations. Yet, the path forward remained unclear, a maze of possibilities with no clear destination in sight.
In his quest for a more fulfilling lifestyle, Jason explored various avenues, from day trading to dabbling in different business ventures. But nothing seemed to provide the lifestyle he yearned for. Without a clear path, Jason went back to what was familiar and took another position in manufacturing. However, the feelings of discomfort and wanting more for his life remained.
“I needed a change in my life,” Jason admits, reflecting on his journey. Finally, Jason connected with a Career Ownership Coach with The Entrepreneur’s Source (TES) and things began to fall into place. With the guidance of his Coach, Jason embarked on a Discovery Journey that would redefine his trajectory. Through introspection and exploration, Jason uncovered a path he hadn’t considered before: becoming a coach himself.
“While the name is The Entrepreneur’s Source, it’s much bigger than that,” Jason explains. “It’s about identifying what you want your life to look like.” TES offered him the opportunity to achieve financial success but also to reclaim his time and autonomy.
Transition from the confines of corporate America to the realm of entrepreneurship was a paradigm shift for Jason. “I realized that I didn’t have to be the expert of everything and know all the answers. I can rely on the TES framework and systems to help me keep moving forward,” says Jason.
With the proven systems and comprehensive support of TES, Jason has been able to grow a sustainable business, finding a culture of collaboration and encouragement within the brand’s network. Peer Performance Groups provide a platform to share insights, seek guidance, and foster a culture of abundance. “It may sound cliché, but with TES, you may be in business for yourself, but you definitely are not by yourself,” says Jason.
He goes on to emphasize, “One of the biggest misconceptions about entering a franchise system is the fear of losing oneself in a cookie-cutter mold, but with TES I have the freedom to infuse my personality into my business, while receiving the support I need to be successful.”
Central to Jason’s success was embracing a mindset of continuous learning and adaptation. In the face of uncertainty, his coach challenged him to confront his fears head-on and embrace the unknown.” Nothing is 100%. Ultimately, you have to decide if you have the skills and abilities to overcome the unknowns.” It was a lesson in resilience and self-discovery, empowering him to overcome obstacles with confidence, and something that as a coach Jason encourages in his clients.
Today, as a coach with TES, Jason finds fulfillment, in helping others navigate their own journey towards entrepreneurship. Whether it’s providing guidance, sharing resources, or simply lending an empathetic ear, he’s committed to adding value every step of the way.
“For me, it’s not about whether you go into business; it’s about helping you uncover what’s next in your life,” Jason explains. “Because true success isn’t just about financial gain; it’s about living a life of purpose and fulfillment.”
For Jason, becoming a Career Ownership Coach with TES has helped him attain his own personal form of success. “While manufacturing provided a good income. I never really had time to spend it. The plant never closes, so I had to always be there. I just accepted it as the way it was. I used to meet my wife in the parking lot of the day care center, just so I could have a chance to see my daughter because I was working all the time. Now I get to make my daughter breakfast every morning and be there for her afterschool. This past Thanksgiving was the first year I got to be home and present on a holiday in a long time! I never imagined this type of flexibility and freedom would be possible.”
As we navigate the ever-changing landscape of work and life, Jason’s story serves as a reminder that the path to success is as unique as the individual walking it. By embracing our potential, challenging the status quo, and seeking guidance when needed, we can unlock new possibilities and redefine what it means to live life on our own terms.
